10 Lebanese First Dates And What They Mean

Living in Lebanon is a whirlwind of different experiences, from manners to types of speech, and when it comes to first dates, there are a few ones we’ve all been asked on or experienced.

1. Drinks in Mar Mikhael

Ambiguous and casual, this is most likely someone who’s trying to bang you not date you. If you’re asked on this date, go prepared.

2. Swiss Butter

When someone is trying to seem fancy but still not spend a fortune, they’ll ask you out to Swiss Butter.

3. The Coffee Shop Date

If it’s somewhere like Strabucks, your date has no personality. If it’s Youness or some other little quirky place, they have some very strong opinions, so go prepared.

4. The Mall Date

Walking around ABC is not an acceptable date after the age of fourteen.

5. The Roadster/Crepaway/Zaatar w Zeit Date

Lack of personality never looked so good!

6. The Walk by the Beach Date

This is a clue that they want to feel out if you’re worth the time or not. Get ready.

7. The Italian Restaurant Date

This date means I want to bang but I’m going to be fancy about it. At least the wine’s good.

8. Clubbing

If you’re asked to go to a club on a first date, know that that person will only be interested in you if you do massive amounts of drugs, and this is how they’re going to figure it out.

9. Watching a Movie

This person is pretty anxious about the date and want to do the least amount of talking possible or they want to get some sweaty hand holding action in the darkness of a cinema hall. Either way, get out.

10. Drinks in a Tiny Pub in Hamra

Statistically speaking, this person is a leftist who has an ironic opinion about 90% of the things you’re going to say. Or they just like Hamra, maybe.
