Stuff We Love
Have You Heard About This Cool Bar Nestled In The Lebanese Mountains?
Yes, you read that right. Meet FREÏA, your getaway for the weekend set right in Fraykeh’s mountains in the Metn area.
The place is kind of hard to find at first, but once you get there, the long weary road will be the last thing on your mind.
The outdoor venue is decorated with colorful pillows and mattresses, perfectly molding with the greenery of the majestic trees and the picturesque valleys all around. During the night, as you lay on one of their hammocks you’ll find that the twinkling fairy lights match the stars above.
Our favorite time to visit is during the afternoon, when it’s not dark yet. You can see all the surrounding scenery not disrupted by clouds of smoke or tall buildings blocking the light.
FREÏA’s scene resembles something of a trendy junkyard set in the woods. The clash of the colors and the makeshift furniture give the place a very authentic and chill vibe, that make it an ideal setting for a relaxing getaway with a couple of friends. Their bar is pretty cool too, made from scraps of wood, metal, and tin barrels to create a one-of-a-kind aesthetic. Speaking of the bar…
They only serve drinks varying from beverages and tea to alcohol – we recommend their delicious signature gin and thyme drink. For the food, they don’t have fully-fledged menu, but you can bring your own snacks, food, and even order in. Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well it’s true and it’s opening the doors this Sunday on June 10 at 4 PM. Round up your friends and head up there to change your beloved bar scenery from street-side Mar Mikhael to a wonderland in the woods.
Since it’s set in the forest, we recommend you bring insect repellent and a jacket just in case it gets chilly. Once you’ve got all of that set up, you’re in for one of the many special experiences that Lebanon has to offer.
