Alfa And Touch Prepaid Cards To Be Priced In Lebanese Pounds

In an announcement made by the chief of Mobile Phones Companies Syndicate’s Ali Ftouni, it was announced that prepaid cards (both from Alfa & Touch) will be priced in Lebanese Lira within the coming days.

This comes after allegations of pricing manipulations in the market, with the dollar crisis being cited for the soaring cost of the cards.

Last month, we had reached out to Class and Talaco to find they were selling the one-month cards for 47,000 LL and 43,000 LL respectively. People who reached out to Beirut.com even complained about buying the cards for as much as 60,000 LL.

Touch and Alfa are also encouraging citizens to purchase their recharge cards online, where they’re being sold following the normal USD rate ($1 = 1514.50 LBP), or from their franchise stores.
