Lebanese Parliament To Name PM On Monday, December 9

According to the official Twitter account of the Lebanese Presidency, the parliament will officially meet to name a new Prime Minister on Monday, December 9, 2019.

This comes after weeks of delay and several name suggestions, including Mohammad Safadi and Bahij Tabbara, all of which were completely rejected by the people.

The name currently being studied is that of Lebanese businessman, Samir Khatib, who seems to be a likely candidate.

Khatib has been the General Manager and Executive Vice President of Khatib & Alami since 1983, and is responsible for the company’s business in the Middle East. Although Khatib is not a former politician, he claims to have “a special personal relationship with Hariri”.
