Here’s What Citizens Worldwide Have Done To Corrupt Politicians
When the justice systems fail to hold corrupt politicians accountable, citizens routinely take matters into their own hands. Here are a few incidents that have taken place worldwide, submit others in the comment section!
Ukraine
Ukrainian MP Vitaly Zhuravsky was thrown into a garbage bin outside of the Parliament buildings.
Parliament member Viktor Pylypyshyn was doused in red paint and had trash thrown at her.
Politician Alexander Danilchuk, was carried out of a government building and —you guessed it— thrown in the trash.
Ukrainian parliamentarian Nestor Shufrych was beaten up outside the regional government building.
Brazil
In the summer of 2017 in Curitiba, Brazil, a furious crowd assembled outside a church and egged a member of the state government ON HER WEDDING DAY. More than 100 people waited for Maria Victoria Barros on her big day, chanting angrily and pelting her with so many eggs that she had to be driven away in an armored car. She and her father (who was also a member of state) were part of a corrupt government that was accused of taking bribes.
Bolivia
Patricia Arce of the governing party was dragged her through the streets barefoot, covered in red paint, and had her hair cut by protestors after the government killed two protestors.
Libya
[Video is way too graphic to embed, you can look it up if you’d like.]
After the Misrata militia took Gaddafi prisoner, they tied him to a truck and drove it around — he fell off as it drove away; the events were filmed on a phone.
Lebanon
Meanwhile in Lebanon, we’re currently waiting for the most corrupt ruling class to form a government so they can keep giving themselves immunity and never be held accountable for the horrible things they’ve done.
