President Aoun On Anti-Corruption Day: “We will continue to work to eliminate the germ that is corruption”

Today and on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, President Michel Aoun tweeted out a statement saying that he will continue to fight the “germ” of corruption that has harmed the health of the state, its institutions, and that has affected the minds and practices of many. The president’s tweet comes in parallel with the ongoing crisis in Lebanon and the failure of many state institutions due to corruption, as well as a Corruption Perceptions Index ranking of 138.
