Jewish Cemetery Of Beirut Collapses After Heavy Rains Last Night

It appears that not even the dead can rest in Lebanon…

Last night, a cemetery near Sodeco Square partly collapsed after hours of heavy rainfall.

The cemetery was identified as the Jewish Cemetery of Beirut, the ONLY Jewish cemetery in the city. According to Lebanese historian and researcher Nagi Zeidan, the oldest grave in the cemetery of Beirut dates back to 1829.

A particularly disturbing video of the collapsing cemetery made the rounds on social media, sparking outrage.
