Carlos Ghosn In Lebanon After “Escaping” Japan, Here Are The Reactions

Umm…weird morning in Beirut. Ousted Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn announced in a brief statement that he had arrived in Beirut after “escaping injustice” in Japan just months before his trial.

“I am now in Lebanon and will no longer be held hostage by a rigged Japanese justice system where guilt is presumed, discrimination is rampant, and basic human rights are denied,” Ghosn said.

Ghosn had been arrested in November of 2018 on four financial misconduct charges including hiding income, illicit enrichment, and others. Sounds familiar? He’s an ideal Lebanese politician! As news broke on the Twittersphere, the reactions ranged from confusing to funny.
