Lebanon In Lockdown For 2 Weeks, Here’s What It Entails
After registering a record number of daily infections recently, Lebanon’s Ministry of Interior has called for a two week lockdown and reinstated the overnight curfews starting Friday, August 21st until September 6th.
All malls, gyms, pools, beaches, restaurants, and pubs will have to close during the lockdown. Supermarkets will operate between 6 AM and 5 PM. Social gatherings will also be banned.
The curfew will extend from 6 PM to 6 AM exempting workers in the medical and food sectors, as well as army, diplomats, and journalists. Areas damaged by the massive explosion will also be exempt from the restrictions, as clean-up efforts continue across multiple neighbourhoods.
Stay home, stay safe!
