Lebanese Syndicate of Restaurant Owners Announce They’ll No Longer Comply With Lockdown Due To Economic Crisis
During a gathering happening now (1 PM Beirut time) in Mar Mikhael for the owners and employees of restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, and the like, the head of the Syndicate Tony Al-Ramy announced that they will no longer be complying with the governmentally enforced measures of closure and lockdown due to the stifling economic condition.
In his speech addressing the crowd, Al-Ramy announced that “you each know what is best for you, as for me and my family, we will be open and operational as of tomorrow,” suggesting that they will operate normally.
Al-Ramy went on to describe their losses to be at approximately $1 billion, and stating that his syndicate will not pay another cent to the state nor government.
