PM Adib: “Inshallah kheir”
Upon leaving Baabda Palace after a meeting with the president, the Prime Minister elect Mustafa Adib made no statement other than, “inshallah kheir”.
This is reminding us of when we’d ask our moms if we can go to a friend’s house and they’d answer with a clipped, “inshallah”. It doesn’t seem great, just saying.
French President Emmanuel Macron had said on September 1st that the government should be formed within 14 days, and the reforms initiated within 4 weeks of the government’s launch. Guess we’re missing both those deadlines.

Looks like the initial 2-week Cabinet formation promise from Lebanese politicians to Macron will be missed.
