Lebanese Aerospace Engineer Works With NASA On “Life on Mars” Experiment

A fantastic source of pride for Lebanon, Maya Nasr is a Lebanese aerospace engineer who has been working with NASA for two years now.



Originally hailing from the Chouf town of Kfarfakoud, Nasr studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and began working with NASA shortly thereafter. Nasr graduated from the Shouf National College in Baakline before getting accepted into the “Competitive College Club” program and getting an acceptance from MIT by the time she was 16.



The current project she is working on with NASA is called MOXIE (Mars Oxygen In utilization Experiment) which aims to look for life on Mars and assess it’s habitability.



Nasr is currently working to obtain get Ph.D. These are the types of stories we love to share. Kudos to Nasr and all Lebanese success stories around the world!
