Minister of Health Calls August 4 Deaths “Fate”
Will this government ever cease to amaze us?
From a blatantly sexist Minister of Interior to a cabinet that is incapable of taking responsibility for its own actions, you would think we would have heard it all by now.
During a televised interview on AlJadeed TV, Minister of Health Hamad Hassan was quoted calling the horrific and tragic deaths that took place on August 4th as “fate”.
Loosely translated, the minister compared the victims of the August 4 explosion to COVID-19 deaths saying, “You could say those who perished on August 4th, it was fate…but COVID patients in my opinion, it is at their own will”. Simply shocking and very brazen coming from a cabinet member whose very government failed to protect people from 2000 tonnes of explosives
Reactions included Sarah Copland who tragically lost her two year old son Isaac in the blast who said:
We are sure families who lost their loved ones are waiting for a retraction or apology that will never come.
