Central Bank “Does Not Have A Single Dollar” For Electricity Advance
Parliamentary committees are currently meeting in an attempt to reach an agreement regarding a loan to be given to the country’s power company. The Minister of Energy had stated that without this loan, Lebanon would find itself in complete darkness by the end of next week.
The response regarding the availability of these funds came from Riad Salame, a clear and resounding no in the form of, “the Central Bank does not have a single dollar of this loan”.
