In a meeting for Lebanon’s Higher Defense Council held in Baabda earlier today, the council recommended preemptive measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 as infection rates continue to rise.
The council recommended that the country be on lockdown over the upcoming Easter holidays (for three days) in order to prevent crowding in restaurants, spaces, and at homes. All sectors are to be closed. It is unclear whether this will apply for both Easter holidays or just the first (April 3 – 5).
They also moved to extend general mobilization for another 6 months.
