Private Universities In Lebanon To Buy Pfizer In July
In an email sent by Dr. Fadlo Khoury, President of the American University of Beirut, it was revealed that the university has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health that enables them to receive 320,000 Pfizer vaccines. L’Orient Today also revealed that seven other universities managed to secure 410,000 doses of Pfizer, anticipated to arrive between July and September.
According to Khoury, the vaccines will be given to all faculty, staff, and students of the university. Vaccinations are scheduled to start in July, and other private universities and academic hospitals involved are the Université Saint-Joseph, the Lebanese American University, and the St. George Hospital University Medical Center.
Dr. Khoury also hoped for to resume on-campus academic life in the Fall term of 2021.
