Arrest Warrant Issued For Former Minister Fenianos
The families of the victims of the August 4 explosion gathered today in anticipation of Judge Tarek Bitar questioning the former Minister of Public Works Youssef Fenianos over his reported knowledge of the explosive materials in Beirut’s Port.
As expected, the Minister (who apparently holds himself above the law and arms himself with immunities) did not show for questioning. Fenianos had repeatedly expressed that he was not going to cooperate with the investigation.
This prompted Judge Bitar to issue an arrest warrant in absentia against Youssef Fenianos, something that is expected for the other ministers Ghazi Zeaiter and Ali Hassan Khalil.
