Strings of Hope 2021: Free Classical Music Concerts

The NGO Les Musicales is finally back with their seasonal music festival, Les Musicales de Baabdath! This year’s event titled “Strings of Hope 2021″ will be happening from October 23rd until November 25th. Add this cultural event to your bucket list if you’re a classical music fanatic or someone who has always been curious!


The program consists of 7 free classical music concerts along with an Exhibition of Paintings by Raouf Rifai:


Saturday, October 23rd

Baabdath New Church – 8 PM

JANA SEMAAN & STRATOS QUARTET

Opening performance featuring Lebanese cellist Jana Semaan and the Austrian Stratos Piano Quartet in a joint concert.


Wednesday, October 27th

Baabdath New Church – 8 PM

DSO BERLIN MUSICIANS

A concert performed by Four members of Berlin’s Deutsche Symphony Orchestra (DSO): Violinists Elena Rindler and Clemens Linder, celloist Adele Bitter, and pianist Holger Groschopp.


Saturday, October 30th

Baabdath New Church – 8 PM

STRINGS OF HOPE CONCERT

A performance by 10 students of the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music coached over a period of 3 months by 5 members of the Deutsche Symphony Orchestra – Berlin.


Thursday, November 4th

St. Joseph Church Monot – 8 PM

HAYK MELIKYAN & THE LEBANESE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

Honorary Artist of Armenia Hayk Melikyan performing with the strings section of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Michel Kheirallah.


Thursday, November 11th

Baabdath New Church – 8:00 pm

TATIANA PRIMAK KHOURY PIANO RECITAL

Pianist Tatiana Primak Khoury performing pieces for J. BRAHMS, S. PROKOFIEV, G. FAURÉ, F. LISZT, and H. KHOURY.


Thursday, November 18th

St. Elias Church – 8 PM

MICHALA PETRI & LARS HANNIBAL

A performance with Michala Petri on her recorder instrument and Lars Hannibal on the guitar.


Thursday, November 25th

Baabdath New Church – 8 PM

WISSAM BOUSTANY & TATIANA PRIMAK KHOURY

Concert bringing together the international flute soloist Wissam Boustany and pianist Tatiana Primak Khoury in a joint performance.


The entrance to any of these concerts is completely free (first come, first seated!), and doors will open at 7:15 PM. Face masks are mandatory, and seating is socially distanced.
