Lira Hits Record Low Of 34,000 On The Dollar

After having reached a little over 33,000LBP to the dollar back in early January before going back to 20,000LBP in March due to the Central Bank pumping money into the market, the Lira has plummeted yet again to a new record low of 34,000LBP on the dollar.

There has also been a sharp increase in fuel and gas prices as of today, with 20 liters of diesel now exceeding the minimum wage salary in Lebanon, standing at 681,000LBP. The prices have been changed as follows:



With no recovery plan in sight, the situation will only worsen as citizens bear the brunt of the government’s inaction and negligence.
