7 Lebanese Reality Shows That Should Be Brought Back
Lebanon has a long and storied tradition of excellent television production. Well…not exactly excellent, but at least it was entertaining. In these times of doom, we need the sparkle of early 2000s reality TV back on our screens.
Here are 7 shows from that era we think should be brought back. Let us know if we missed any!
1. Al Wadi
A show where celebrities are locked into a barn and forced to do tricks for all our enjoyment, AND it’s hosted by Haifa Wehbe? Sign me up.
2. Star Academy
The iconic show may have run for close to 13 years, but we miss it. And we miss Hilda Khalife.
3. The Perfect Bride
The Bachelorette before the Bachelorette? Bring back the brides and the husbands and all the stereotypes and let us have some fun watching it on Twitter.
4. Project Fashion
This Arab Project Runway adaptation, hosted by former Miss Lebanon Norma Naoum was broadcast on the deceased Future TV. A more modern take should provide for a lot of memorable design from our talented local population.
5. Mission Fashion
Before RuPaul, there was this Elie Saab-led fashion extravaganza on LBCI, combining both model and designer competition tracks.
6. Ya Leil Ya 3ein
The Voice, Arabs’ Got Talent, Arab Idol…Many shows have tried to get the musical talent show right but not many succeeded This show had the right mix of talent and fun to keep everyone entertained.
7. Kel Mayle 3ayle
Family feuds are an essential part of Arab culture, so it is almost offensive to me that we don’t have a 24/7 running show about it. Imagine families from all over the country battling out on this amazing stage.
