7 Magical Places In Lebanon That Are Covered In Snow

Finally, our favorite Lebanese winter destinations are dusted in snow, painting gorgeous pictures all around. Our first order of business is heading straight to these 7 magical places in Lebanon to marvel at the snow-clad mountains.

Let us know what your favorite wintertime destination is in the comments 🙂

1. Laklouk

A favorite for all snow lovers during the wintertime in Lebanon, Laklouk stands as one of the most magical snow-covered destinations. This mountainous village enjoys generous snowfall every year, so if you’re looking for some snowy scenery to cherish in your memory, head straight to Laklouk.

And if you made it this far, you might as well make a stop at Azawardi for a delicious meal. Their specialty Azawardi kebbe and mezza selection are the perfect dishes to enjoy by the fireplace as you watch the snowfall.

2. Bcharre

Is your winter ever complete without a trip to see the snow-covered cedars in Bcharre? An expanse of white and green for you to feast your eyes on, with the occasional cute wooden cabin that shows up in the background of every photo (but we’re not complaining).

We recommend that you head to Le Pichet in Le Cedrus Boutique Hotel for a warming lunch after you spend your morning playing in the snow. You should cozy up with their famous onion soup by the chimney.

3. Tannourine

If you’ve seen Tannourine during other seasons, nothing will compare to its Disney-esque beauty during winter. As if the region could not get any more magical, you’ll find their marvelous mountains, hills, and valleys coated with thick layers of snow.

When the hunger hits, look no further than Escalpio Restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Lebanese cuisine with a view of the mountains like no other.

4. Zaarour

Zaarour is one of the most charming and welcoming winter destinations in Lebanon, and as soon as you step into this winter wonderland, you’ll be blown away by the cozy village and its gorgeous views.

For the ultimate food experience, we recommend a trip to Cabana’Z Resto Bar. Warm up at this adorable wooden cabin over delicious grills and perfect cocktail blends.

5. Hadath El Jebbeh

Hikers will fall in love with Hadath El Jebbeh because no matter how much snow covers this breathtaking region, you’ll always find an ideal hiking trail to make the most of your visit. A stroll under the snow-covered cedars is absolutely therapeutic!

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a filling breakfast, some good coffee, or fresh bakes, Ward Café Trottoir is the place to be. This welcoming destination will make you feel like you’re visiting your grandparents’ house, with the yummiest keshek and bayd bkawarma to devour by the soubya.

6. Al Barouk

Those who have never visited Al Barouk will never understand the joy of experiencing the country’s largest natural cedar reserve during the most beautiful time of the year. Even the most skilled photographers cannot do this place any justice.

Spending a snowy day in Al Barouk is best concluded with traditional Lebanese cuisine at Baytna. A blast from the past, this restaurant’s stone walls and cozy seating have deemed it one of the most charming (and delicious) spots to visit in the region.

7. Faraya

This famous touristic destination is famous for a reason, and obviously worth the hype. A cabin stay will feel like you’re spending your evening at Santa’s village in the North Pole, with charming wooden cabins covered in snow and lit up with twinkling lights.

For an exquisite meal, look no further than Le Montagnou. This Alpine experience will charm you to no end with its gorgeous view and indulgent dishes to help you fight off the harsh cold.
