Italian Wine Windows Just Landed In Batroun

Have you ever heard of Buchette del Vino in the heart of Florence, Italy? This centuries-old feature of the city of Florence is one the most interesting, where you’ll find tiny holes on the walls of historic sites called “wine windows”!

And you guessed it, tourists swarmed these lovely little wine windows through which they could purchase wine—and this concept just fount its way to Lebanon.

The Winery Window is located in the heart of Batroun’s Lebanese Diaspora Village, and it’s the perfect stop to enjoy a glass of wine on the go.

Here’s how it works: you go up to the wall, select a token depending on what you want to order (the tokens, their prices, and what they stand for are hung near the window), drop it in the little hole, ring the bell, and enjoy your drink to-go!

Fun fact: these wine windows became popular during the 17th century plague and regained their popularity during the COVID pandemic because of their no-contact process.

We don’t know about you, but we’re excited to try this new spot. Sipping on some flavorful wine while strolling through the lovely Batroun sounds like the perfect outing.
