Minister of Culture Mohamad Mortada has announced that entry to select free museums and archaeological sites will be free from April 19 to April 25 in celebration of World Heritage Day. The International Day For Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day, is marked every year on the 18th of April.
A select number of Lebanon’s
remarkable museums will be open for all to access and enjoy, including the neglected but yet still rich National Museum in Beirut.
Lebanon’s vast history has also left vastmaterial marks on its terrain, and there’s much beauty that can be found around its archaeological heritage. Across the country, access to these sites will be free for the next 6 days. We recommend a visit to Baalbek, Sour, or Jbeil.
For seasoned Lebanese explorers and emerging cultural enthusiasts, this World Heritage week is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with some of the visits you keep postponing.
