Good news for anyone who has been waiting to register their car, the Traffic and Vehicles Management Authority (known as Nafaa) is open yet again with a new system.
Spearheaded by the team behind the management of appointment systems during the COVID lockdowns and vaccine rollouts, the Inter-Ministerial and Municipal Platform for Assessment, Coordination, and Tracking (IMPACT) has introduced a digitized queuing system and appointment platform to enhance efficiency.
IMPACT proudly describes their innovative system as “lightning-fast and organized,” ensuring that you spend minimal time waiting and complete your transaction without any delays.
The Office faced closure in early 2023 due to a corruption probe that led to numerous arrest warrants. While citizens can now breathe a sigh of relief with its reopening, unfortunately, this positive development is accompanied by increased service prices. In some instances, prices have surged by 36 times, with the driver’s license now costing 1,800,000 LL.
For those familiar with Nafaa’s past chaos—characterized by screaming, flying paperwork, randomly disappearing employees, and a ton of tips—we hope that this new platform will refine the process for the Lebanese people.
