Is Beirut’s “The Happy Prince” Coming Back With A Rebrand?

This is not a drill. Brace yourselves because the beloved Beirut restaurant The Happy Prince just might be making a return!

Fans of The Happy Prince on Instagram were pleasantly surprised when the brand changed its name to The Terrible Prince on the platform. The account also tweaked its bio, shifting the location from Alexander Fleming (their old Mar Mikhael spot) to Monot St., hinting at an upcoming comeback at a new space.

The cherished restaurant was a cornerstone of the Beirut food scene, renowned for its iconic burgers and unbeatable cocktails. It used to be among Beirut’s busiest spots until the October 2019 revolution temporarily closed its doors. While it briefly reopened for deliveries during COVID, The Happy Prince sadly ceased operations for good after the August 4 blast, during which it was severely damaged.

Since then, there has been a massive burger and T-bone steak shaped hole in our hearts. The restaurant’s unparalleled cocktails and exceptional ambiance have remained unmatched to this day.

Here’s hoping this social media move signals their return, and that the burger, fries, iconic homemade chips, artichoke dip, AND those unbeatable brunches remain on the menu!
