Apple Pay Is Coming To Lebanon (Sort Of)

Exciting news for Lebanese people who hate carrying cash and cards! Apple Pay, the convenient digital payment system loved by millions worldwide, will soon be accessible in Lebanon thanks to a new player in the market.

Enter Rival Finance, a payment services provider based in the United Arab Emirates. They’ve set their sights on Lebanon, aiming to bridge the gap for Lebanese consumers eager to embrace modern payment methods like Apple Pay. The service is set to be launched in April of 2024.

As we all know, Apple Pay doesn’t currently support Lebanese banks or cards issued by them. That’s where Rival Finance steps in. While details are still vague, it appears that Rival Finance will offer a workaround by issuing credit/debit cards that seamlessly integrate with Apple Pay. You can deposit money into your Rival account by bank transfer, Whish, OMT, crypto transfers, or even by physically dropping the money off at Rival’s offices in Verdun.

In essence, opening an account with Rival Finance could mean depositing your funds and receiving a digital card compatible with Apple Pay. This means you could use Apple Pay at any local establishment that accepts foreign cards, bringing a touch of digital convenience to your everyday transactions. Just tap your phone and go.

For those eager to embrace this new way of payments, keep your eye on Rival Finance’s social media accounts.
