In an unexpected move, President Joseph Aoun paid a surprise visit to the notoriously chaotic Nef3a Vehicle Registration Center in Dekwaneh—an institution long plagued by inefficiency, disorder, and rampant corruption.
Despite recent attempts to streamline operations through an online appointment platform, the system remains dysfunctional, with thousands still struggling to register their vehicles. Lines stretch for hours, confusion reigns, and complaints continue to pour in.
Speaking directly to the overwhelmed employees, President Aoun didn’t mince words: “Those who cover up corruption are complicit in it… You are required to be our eyes, and you must inform us of any mistakes.”
We hope that his visit signals a new level of efficiency for the Lebanese state and its operations.
