Disney Unveils Plans for First Middle East Theme Park in Abu Dhabi

Disney has officially announced plans for its first theme park in the Middle East! Set to open on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, this marks Disney’s seventh global park and its first venture into the region.

Disney Imagineers will creatively design the park in partnership with the Abu Dhabi-based firm Miral, which will oversee construction and operations, ensuring a blend of Disney magic with local cultural elements.

The new resort aims to offer immersive experiences by combining Disney’s iconic stories and characters with Abu Dhabi’s unique architecture and culture. Disney hasn’t detailed specific attractions yet, but the park will offer themed accommodations, dining, and retail experiences.

This initiative aligns with their broader strategy to invest $60 billion over the next decade in its Experiences segment. The company anticipates that the Abu Dhabi park will contribute positively to its earnings and global reach.

Disney has not announced an official opening date, but it will release further details in the coming months.

The park’s location on Yas Island places it among other major attractions like Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, solidifying the island’s status as a premier entertainment destination.
