SOMO: A Fancy Seafood Spot in Jbeil That’s Actually Worth the Hype

Did we just find the best spot in Lebanon for seafood lovers? SOMO in Jbeil is a sleek seafood and sushi spot that manages to feel both upscale and inviting. Think of it as the kind of place where you’d go for a birthday dinner, but you’ll end up coming back to on random Tuesdays.

Here’s what we really think about this Jbeil gem.

What’s On the Menu?

The menu is long, but surprisingly not overwhelming. From Icelandic sea urchins to Japanese Wagyu burgers, it’s packed with seafood and a few unexpected twists.Even non-fish lovers won’t leave hungry.

Let’s break it down.

For the Starters: Begin Bold

Start with the Tom Yum Soup—spicy, citrusy, and loaded with shrimp, mussels, scallops, and a hit of yuzu.

Not into soup? Go for the Dynamite Shrimp—crispy, spicy, and seriously addictive. We also loved the Spicy Salmon Bao, but the real standout is the Lobster Bao—rich, buttery, and unlike anything else we’ve had in Lebanon.

Premium Picks: Wagyu, Caviar, Lobster

This is just the place to treat yourself to a nice seafood dinner. Their menu is filled with excellent premium dishes, like the Wagyu Sliders, made with authentic A5 Japanese Wagyu—the only ones of their kind in Lebanon. Or the Iranian Beluga Caviar.

This spot also directly imports its own Beluga, Ossetra, and Baeri caviars straight from farms in Europe. Their Yum Yum Lobster dish is indulgent and comes with baked mussels, garlic butter rice, and Japanese sauce. And don’t skip the Wagyu Sliders,

SOMO keeps a live lobster aquarium, so when you order lobster, it’s fresh—like, just-came-out-of-the-tank fresh.

For Sushi Lovers

Sushi lovers will fall in love with their exceptional rolls, all made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Their sushi options are a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds—colorful, well-balanced, and packed with flavor.

Never Skip Dessert!

Wrap up your visit with some refreshing mochi ice cream, but if you’re in the mood for something richer, get the chocolate fondant.

Is It Worth It?

SOMO isn’t just hype—it delivers. The quality is top-tier, the setting is chic, and the variety keeps things exciting. If you’re a seafood fan (or even sushi-curious), this spot deserves a place on your hit list.

If you’re planning to properly treat yourself and go all out on a seafood feast, then this is the place for you. Make sure to follow them on Instagram for more!
