High School Promposals: Lebanon’s Rich Kid Olympics

Graduation season only means one thing, and that’s high school promposals. I’ve seen more promposal videos on my TikTok feed more than I’ve seen people celebrating their graduation, which makes one wonder about where this generation’s priorities stand.

This isn’t exactly true for everyone, but these over-the-top promposals that look like actual engagements are popular within a certain demographic.

At this point, it seems like it’s a competition between rich kids on who could pull off the flashiest promposal. I’m not sure whose parents would be willing to hand their kids like five grand to ask someone to prom, but to each their own.

Back in my day, I got a cardboard that said “You must be this tall to say no to prom.” Can we bring back cute DIY promposal projects? Or just a nice bouquet or box of chocolates with a card?

Anyway, I genuinely hope you kids are as excited to graduate as you are to make flashy promposals. Can’t wait to see what you do when you ACTUALLY get married. Drop down a parachute? A huge blimp with your pictures plastered across? A drone spelling out “Will You Marry Me?” off Batroun’s coast?

Let us know your thoughts on these high school promposals. You can also check out the #Opinion section for more content like this.
