We Found the BEST Smashed Burger in Beirut (Food Review)

Smashed burgers are the biggest thing (after matcha), so you’re probably wondering where the BEST place to have smashed burgers in Beirut is. Luckily for you, we have the answer.

Mar Mikhael is packed with smashed burger spots, including everyone’s beloved The Bro’s. But we’re just going to say it: The Bro’s doesn’t have the best one (sorry). We tried it and loved it, but it’s not a real smashed burger.

We Tried These Burgers from The Bros, Here’s Our Honest Review

We decided to try three spots (located on the same street) to see who has the best smashed burger: Bunman, Smash Babe, and GBB. Here’s our review of each:

Bunman

We ordered the Bunman Cheeseburger with a double patty. This signature burger features cheddar cheese, grilled onions, dill pickles, and the special Bunman sauce.

The best thing about it: the extra crispy edges and juicy center of the patty!

It’s tiny but mighty. Trying this burger was an experience, and the owner promised that this would be one of our favorite burgers of all time – and it really is.

Smash Babe

Cool thing about this place is that there’s a screen for you to make your order, confirm it, and wait for it to get prepared. We ordered a double patty with cheese, dill pickles, and caramelized onions so that it’s as close as possible to our Bunman order.

The best thing about it: more filling compared to Bunman, very soft brioche buns

If you’re looking for a smashed burger that’s more filling than Bunman’s, then you can go for Smash Babe. You’ll also love the playful vibe of this place, especially their ultra friendly staff.

Gilbert’s Burger Bites

GBB doesn’t exactly specialize in smashed burgers, but they’re known for having some of the juiciest burgers in Lebanon, so we had to try it. We ordered a double smashed burger, which is made with cheddar, dill pickles and thousand island sauce.

The best thing about it: a saucier option compared to the others we’ve tried

If you love saucy burgers, then this might be the burger for you. Their sauce was a lot more prominent compared to Bunman and Smash Babe, and it might be overpowering for some people who prefer simpler burgers.
