Video: Ethiopian Wedding Takes Over the Streets of Tripoli
An Ethiopian wedding in Tripoli brought a lively zaffe through the streets, with music, clapping, and smiling onlookers sharing in the joy.

In many Ethiopian Orthodox weddings, it’s tradition for the bride and groom to dress in regal attire, symbolizing that, for this day, they are king and queen. The red capes and crowns are often seen in Amhara and Tigray ceremonies, reflecting pride in cultural heritage.
Singing and ululation echoed through the streets, led by a group of women, likely members of a traditional choir or wedding group. As the procession moved through the neighborhood, Tripolitans stopped to watch, film, and even join the celebration.
