6 Places to Watch the Rare Blood Moon in Lebanon
A blood moon occurs during a total lunar eclipse, when the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon. The upcoming lunar eclipse on September 7, 2025, will be visible from Lebanon, making it a perfect excuse to step outside and enjoy the celestial show. We compiled a bunch of spots where you can watch the rare blood moon!
P.S. All the events will be taking place on Sunday, September 7. This is Lebanon’s first visible total lunar eclipse since 2018. Don’t miss it!
1. Full Blood Moon Hike in Akoura
Hike through scenic trails, enjoy the sunset, and stargaze through a telescope.

2. Full Blood Moon Hike in Majdel Tarchich
Enjoy sunset views, a 6 km trail of easy to moderate difficulty, and a cozy bonfire with marshmallows at the end.
Fee: $20 per person (groups of 5+ get $2 off)

3. Moongazing at SummaQ Guesthouse in Ehden
The event will be visible in the northern sky, and the garden will open for moongazing from 7:00 pm. Guests can enjoy cheese and wine, marshmallows, and a bonfire.

4. Astro-Getaway in Kfardebian
Using computerized telescopes, you’ll see the Moon moving through Earth’s shadow and Saturn with its iconic rings, plus enjoy a guided tour of the night sky’s main constellations.

5. Jazz Under the Supermoon at Sept Winery in Nehla
Sept Winery is celebrating its 10th vintage and 10th anniversary of winemaking with n a full-moon celebration. Expect lots of music, wine, and Lebanese artists starting 7 PM.

6. Sunset Hike & Blood Moon at Zaarour Heights
Hike along scenic trails, enjoy golden-hour views, and end the evening around a bonfire with wine and live music. The 5 km moderate hike includes experienced guides, photos, first aid, and transportation (or join with your own vehicle).
