Finally! Beirut’s Sioufi Garden Is Open Once Again
After a long wait, one of Beirut’s beloved public spaces is back. Many of the city’s public parks have been closed or poorly maintained, leaving few safe, clean spaces for locals.
Thanks to efforts by UNOPS, the German Embassy, the Beirut Council, and the Municipality of Beirut, Sioufi Garden returns full restored and ready to welcome locals once again!
A Fresh, Beautiful Space for Everyone
The park now features restored pathways and terraces, neatly arranged trees and plants, and a dedicated skating area for visitors. Modern lighting and plenty of seating make it safe and comfortable, while a large playground, a fountain, and a pond with ducks add to the lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking to relax with a book, get some exercise, enjoy a stroll, or let the kids play freely, there’s a space here for everyone.
The project made every corner of the park practical, safe, and enjoyable, turning Sioufi Garden into a space where families, friends, and individuals of all ages can spend time outdoors and connect with nature.
One of Beirut’s Largest Parks
Located in Achrafieh, Sioufi Garden spans roughly 20,000 square meters. Its name comes from the Sioufi district, which was historically home to furniture factories built in 1910. The factory owners would open the park to the public as a service to the community.
After the recent restorations, Sioufi Garden has come back to life, reflecting that same spirit. Children can play freely, teens can skate, and adults can relax or take a peaceful stroll.
Sioufi Garden has returned to the heart of Achrafieh as a vibrant green oasis. Restorations like these bring the community together and remind us how important public spaces are in Beirut.
