Here’s Where You Can Watch Movies for Free in Beirut

There are quite a few affordable cinemas in Beirut where you can catch a movie, like Metropolis Cinema or Le Colisée, but did you know you could actually watch movies for free?

The Institut français du Liban periodically screens French cinema classics, free of charge. And don’t worry if you don’t speak French because the movies have English and Arabic subtitles.

The screenings range from documentaries to romcoms, showcasing a variety of beloved classics to must-see animated films.

Every month, the Institut français du Liban releases a screening schedule, so make sure to follow them on Instagram to see the December schedule once it drops. For November, you can still catch docufilm La Ferme des Bertrand (2023) on the 25th, and animated film Les Douze Travaux d’Astérix (1976) on the 26th.
