The iconic Benihana closed its doors as of Monday, ending a three-decade chapter in Beirut’s dining scene.
Since opening in 1995 at Hamra’s Le Commodore Hotel, the restaurant became a staple for sushi lovers, teppanyaki fans, and anyone looking for a fun night out.
For years, diners enjoyed everything from sushi rolls to grilled yellowfin tuna, spicy seafood noodles, yakisoba, and signature teppanyaki-style steak, chicken, and seafood, all cooked right in front of you by your personal chef.
The combination of skillful cooking and playful performance made every visit memorable, whether you were on a date, celebrating with family, or hosting a special occasion.
Its closure leaves a gap in Hamra’s culinary scene, but the memories and the meals will linger for longtime fans.
