After turning the page with a new location in Jisr El Wati, Souk El Tayeb is now opening their new Souk Café!
Saturdays at the souk have become a regular outing for people who enjoy homemade food, supporting local farmers, and that community feel. Open every Saturday from 9 AM until 4 PM, the new café will be making your visits all the more enjoyable.
Stop by the souk, do your shopping and stock up on mouneh, then take a seat at the café. You can relax with a fresh coffee, enjoy a light Lebanese breakfast, or share a sweet treat made from fresh market finds.
There’s also a playing area for kids if you’re spending the Saturday with your family!
The menu focuses on classic Lebanese dishes. You will find light breakfast options like labneh, balila, eggs, halloumi, foul, fatteh, and local cheeses. Traditional desserts like meghli and mhallabiye are also available. The café serves lattes, espresso, and Lebanese coffee.
And all the dishes are prepared fresh in Souk El Tayeb’s open kitchen!
A visit to the café can be combined with a walk through the market. You can find fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, mouneh, dairy, and fresh meat. There are saj stations, traditional desserts, flowers, handicrafts, and care products from local Lebanese brands. The market also features cooking ingredients and other specialty foods from villages across Lebanon.
The central courtyard is a place where visitors naturally meet and spend time while the market continues to support local farmers and producers and highlights their products.
