South Lebanon’s Beloved Dar Zefta Just Opened an Arthouse!

Dar Zefta, one of South Lebanon’s most charming heritage guesthouses, just expanded to the world of creativity. The century-old house, known for its architecture and hospitality, has officially launched Zefta Arthouse, a new cultural space dedicated to supporting local artists and bringing art closer to the community.

Zefta Arthouse sits steps away from Dar Zefta, and its opening will kick off with a group exhibition featuring 24 artists from South Lebanon, including Mohammed Al-Abdallah, Huda and Abdulhamid Baalbaki, David Daoud, Nour Ballouq, and many more.

The initiative aims to amplify artistic voices from the region and spotlight Lebanese creativity from the heart of the south. You can learn more about the inaugural exhibition here.

This initiative aims to encourage creators to showcase their work and create a cultural atmosphere that brings everyone together and introduces the world to Lebanese creativity from the heart of the south.

Built in 1911 and restored by Bahjat Al-Darwish, Dar Zefta has become more than a guesthouse. With its stone arches, wooden windows, olive-grove terraces, and authentic southern hospitality, it now serves as a space for exhibitions, workshops, photo sessions, cultural events, and local food gatherings.

The official opening of Zefta Arthouse will take place on Saturday, January 31 at 11 AM. The invitation is open to all art and culture lovers.

With this new project, Dar Zefta continues to prove that heritage and innovation can coexist. And that South Lebanon has more to offer than ever in terms of beauty, art, and cultural richness.
