By chance, two young friends found each other again after 15 months apart.
Mahdi and Mohammad first met in 2024 when they were forcibly displaced and sheltered in the same school. They spent their days playing together and finding moments of joy despite the hardship. After the ceasefire, each returned to their village in the south, losing contact for over a year.
Now, displaced once again by war, they have reunited at another school by sheer coincidence.

Seeing each other brought instant joy, with the two boys reconnecting as if no time had passed.
Being together helped them adjust to life in the shelter. The friendship gave them comfort in an uncertain situation. They now hope the war ends so they can return home, continue school, and stay close friends. We hope they stay connected this time and build this friendship once they return home!
