Khabar Keslan Magazine, a small collective in Beirut, focuses on art and visual culture across the region and beyond. They produce a range of print formats, publishing an annual magazine, comics, foldable posterzines, and broadsheet newspapers. They’ve teamed up with Hamra’s beloved Barzakh Bookshop to support displaced families in Lebanon.

Here’s how you can help this initiative.

For just $20, you can grab a bundle of three Khabar Keslan publications along with a reproduction stamp print, with all proceeds going toward rent and essential needs for families this month.

To My Dearest Reader (in English and Arabic):

A bilingual newspaper examining the design of Iranian postage stamps before and after the 1979 Revolution.

Salute to the Olives (in English and Arabic):

Selected writings by the long-imprisoned freedom fighter Omar Barghouthi, accompanied by an essay on his family’s struggle for justice and liberation.

Greetings to the Iraqi Republic (in English):

A tabloid newspaper exploring the visual history of Iraqi nationalism through the often-overlooked art of Iraqi envelope design.

One postage stamp print:

Reproductions from the editor-in-chief’s family stamp collection.

Funds raised will help cover monthly rent, household necessities, and immediate needs for displaced families, responding case by case to the conditions each family is living through.

By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not only helping displaced families cover rent and essentials, but also gaining access to important regional media, archival material, and unique cultural perspectives. Each publication offers a window into overlooked histories and artistic practices, allowing readers to engage with the stories, visuals, and voices that shape the region today.
