A 10-day ceasefire led many people to return to their villages in the South, even if briefly, to check on their homes and land. One Lebanese woman, however, remained hesitant and stayed behind, unsure of what to expect.
Her daughter decided to go without her and check on their home. While there, she filmed the family’s chicken coop and showed her mother that all their chickens, her babies, had survived. You can watch the full video here:
Relieved, the mother then made the decision to return shortly thereafter just to see them herself. Her return turned into a heartwarming reunion with her chickens.
As people begin to cautiously return to the South during the ceasefire, even small moments like this carry a deeper sense of relief and joy seeing our people seeing our people reconnect with home.
