The Lebanon-Cyprus Ferry Is Finally Here: Prices, Schedule & How to Book

Remember when we told you about the Cyprus-Lebanon ferry trips? After some delays, they’re finally a reality, and the route is more impressive than we originally thought.

Starting June 9th 2026, Cedar Waves will launch Lebanon’s first scheduled ferry service in decades, connecting Jounieh not just to Larnaca, Cyprus, but also to Latakia, Syria and Mersin, Turkey. You can book it right now. Here’s everything you need to know, including the prices, the ports, and what’s changed since we first covered this.

Who is Running the Ferry?

The service is operated by Cedar Waves, running under the umbrella of Abou Merhi Agency, a Lebanese maritime company known for their cruise trips. Their flagship vessel, also named Cedar Waves, a converted San Marino ship, marks the first direct, scheduled ferry route out of Lebanon in decades.

The Route(s)

The main route runs between Jounieh Port and Larnaca Port, Cyprus. The crossing clocks in at 3 hours and 59 minutes. That’s faster than the 5 hours originally projected.

And the network is bigger than just Cyprus. Cedar Waves also connects to Latakia Port, Syria and Mersin Port, Turkey, making it a mini maritime hub, not just a Lebanon–Cyprus link.

Schedule

Departures to Cyprus leave Jounieh Port at 9:00 AM Wednesdays and Sundays and 10:00 AM on Fridays, arriving at Larnaca Port at 12:59 PM or an hour later on Fridays(all times in Beirut local time).

Trips to Mersin leave at 8:00 AM or 9:00 PM, with the shortest running for 5 hours and 30 minutes, and the longest nearly 12 hours as it includes a layover in Latakia, Syria.

How Much Does It Cost?

Prices differ between the different routes and the dates of travel, but below we’ve compiled a range that gives you an average.

To Larnaka

There are three tiers:

  • Standard — $95/person
  • Plus — $155/person
  • Lounge — $175/person

To Mersin

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, & Sundays – ranging between $165 and $275.

To Latakia

Wednesdays & Sundays – ranging between $135 and $150.

When it comes to Cyprus, that is a significant drop from the $250–$350 one-way prices that were floated before the service launched. At $95 Standard, the ferry is now genuinely cheaper than most Lebanon–Cyprus flights.

Is It Cheaper Than Flying?

Yes, actually now it is. Flights between Beirut and Larnaca currently run from around $170 roundtrip on platforms like Expedia, but one-way fares can easily hit $180–$250 depending on timing. A $95 Standard ferry ticket undercuts most flight options, especially for last-minute or summer travel.

The trade-off: a 30-minute flight vs. a 4-hour scenic crossing. Depending on your mood, that’s either a dealbreaker or the whole point.

Do You Still Need a Visa?

Yes. Regardless of whether you travel by ferry or plane, Lebanese passport holders still need a valid Schengen visa to enter Cyprus. Apply through the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Beirut.
