This Lebanese Tattoo Artist Is Covering Self-Harm Scars for Free

Lebanese tattoo artist Lea Feitrouni is advocating for mental health the best way she knows how: through ink. By offering free cover-ups over healed self-harm scars, she is turning painful memories into symbols of renewal.

It’s a quiet act of defiance against social stigma. While we can’t rewrite our past, we can always choose how our stories unfold on our skin.

Taking to social media to share her initiative, Feitrouni emphasized that mental health is a priority she treats with deep gravity. “Mental health is something I take very seriously,” Feitrouni shared. “I believe support can come in many different forms, and I’m lucky that through my work, I have a way of offering a little bit of that support to someone who may need it.”

Through this monthly initiative, selected clients receive a custom piece crafted by Feitrouni. Whether the client wants to completely cover their marks, integrate them into a new design, or shift how they feel when looking at that part of their body, the ultimate goal remains the same: reclaiming agency and peace.

Application & Safety Guidelines

To maintain a safe environment and ensure optimal technical results, Feitrouni outlined specific requirements for those applying for the sessions:

Healed Scars Only: All scars must be fully healed for a minimum of six months before being tattooed.

Original Custom Designs: The artwork must fall within her signature style. Pre-existing tattoo designs will not be copied.

Individual Case Evaluation: Each application is reviewed individually to confirm the skin area can be tattooed safely.

How to Apply: Applicants are asked to email their submission including reference photos of her style they like, clear photos of the scars, the placement and size (in cm), and a brief concept of what they want to create.
