Is Dr. Food Free? Here’s What We Know About the Influencer’s Release

Lebanese food influencer and entrepreneur Georges Dib, better known as Dr. Food, has been released from prison after benefiting from Lebanon’s general amnesty law.

According to MTV Lebanon, the Lebanese courts decided to release Dib and drop further proceedings against him in connection with a case involving allegations of manufacturing and smuggling drugs concealed in packages of his wafer.ai products.

MTV reports that Dib appeared before the Mount Lebanon Criminal Court in recent days and his lawyer presented documents arguing that Dib was not involved in the alleged drug trade, including evidence relating to his location and phone records.

The decision follows the entry into force of Lebanon’s general amnesty law, published in the Official Gazette after the Constitutional Council rejected a challenge against it. According to MTV’s sources, Dib qualified for the amnesty as he was being pursued in connection with a single drug-related case and had not repeated the offense.

The case dates back to 2024, and since his apprehension, footage also surfaced appearing to show him assaulting his then-wife, Shrouq, known online as “Sunshine.” The couple have since divorced.
