Stop Domestic Violence Against Women

Saturday, Feb 18, 2012
11:00am -> 2:00pm
Samir Kassir Square

Sometimes the Lebanese citizens have to get things moving their own way and with their own means. This is another occasion for the Lebanese citizens to take back their rights.

Women in Lebanon have always been subject to discrimination and injustice with inexistent laws to protect them.

Today, a parliamentary committee is reading, debating and modifying a law to protect women from family violence. The initial draft of the law that was presented by Lebanese NGOs is soon to be transformed into a law empty from all its essence, not only to maintain the unfair status quo of women in Lebanon, but also, and unfortunately to even worsen their situation.

Join them and contribute in making a real change in women’s rights issues.
