The Piece Unique gallery will be hosting a solo exhibition by renowned Syrian painter Thaer Maarouf titled, “Veto.”
Thaer Maarouf is a Syrian painter born in 1972. He holds a Master’s degree in fine arts from the Lebanese University in Beirut. Maarouf’s work has been featured at several collective exhibits in Lebanon, Syria and France, as well as at solo exhibits in Kuwait, Spain and France. His work is also featured in the permanent collections of several Middle Eastern museums.
In October 2012, Maarouf was featured in the Singapore Middle Eastern Art Exhibition, which was inspired by the Arab Spring. The artist’s work was noted for its use of symbolism to highlight human rights issues amid regional upheaval.
