An oriental performance including famous classical pieces by arab composers, varying between instrumental compositions, and songs performed instrumentally. Performance will include improvisations on the Qānūn accompanied by a dynamic Qānūn / percussion conversation.

About Faisal Zedan
Syrian, Lebanese percussionist residing in California U.S. specializes in Arabic drum instruments; Derbakki Riqq and frame drums. His specialty is in Arabic classical genres of music such as Muwashshahāt, Adwār and instrumental compositions, as well as folk and belly dance music. In edition, Faisal has been teaching Arabic percussion instruments in the united states and abroad for the last 20 years.

About Samer Farah
Syrian born to Arabic and Turkish family, Qānūn player Samer Farah performs classical music genres such as; Muwashshahāt and Adwār as well as lighter Arabic and Turkish folk music. Samer is a resident of Lebanon and works in local music projects involving the old style of Arabic singing called Tarab.
