Lebanese Bartender Heading To Global Finals

Hamra lovers may recognize Ayman Zayour as the previous manager of gastro-pub Ferdinand, but he’s about to get a worldwide spin to his name.

The 24-year old bartender impressed a panel of judges with his La Palma cocktail, a mix of Bacardi Carta Blanca, dry champagne, lime juice, Caribbean coconut syrup, and angostura bitter.

La Palma ended up being the winning cocktail of the Bacardi Legacy global competition in Lebanon, meaning Zayour will head to San Fransisco to represent Lebanon in the global final on April 20. Zayour participating in this global event is a great opportunity for him to promote his Lebanese heritage.

It’s wonderful to see that Zayour has managed to produce something that feels both original and timeless at the same time. Now we all have a brand new Spring/Summer cocktail to look forward to!

Last year, France’s Frank Dedieu was crowned the winner following a close final. This year, we’re cheering for Ayman to bring home the gold.
