Hawa El Horriye Makes Exploited Woman’s Life Even Worse

I think we can collectively agree that Hawa el Horriye was in absolute shambles the other night. Let’s dissect it.

First WTF moment:

“Do you watch porn” the producers awkwardly ask a couple of volunteers, while we cringed and watched their replies. They then proceed to plant virtual-reality porn headsets on their heads while we also watched for reactions (and the minimally blurred out porn on the bottom left of the screen).

The lucky viewer then proceeds to hear three men discussing the effects of virtual-reality porn on children (fair enough, although they take a questionable angle) and women. Because the man is obviously a woman’s humble protector and must take all decisions regarding her vagina and her sexuality. Of course, this segment wouldn’t be complete without a little bashing of the LGBT community.

One of the men brought on the show spoke about the dangers of virtual-reality porn, including “motion sickness” and “cyber sickness”. It’s only right to congratulate him at this point, since cyber sickness does not actually exist (he invented it) and motion sickness usually only applies when you’re moving (hot tip: it’s in the name).

Second WT-actual-F moment:

The Zahle sex scandal. You’ve probably heard all about it; on the radio, on twitter, on TV, and from your mother. Well, LBCI thought it was a good idea to broadcast revenge porn which was taken WITHOUT the woman in question’s consent (with very little blurred), her voice notes, and even a picture of her where her face was barely covered without obtaining her side of the story and simply based on one man’s account.

Luckily, this vengeful man has now been arrested for allegedly blackmailing this woman for money and threatening to expose her on TV, which LBCI facilitated through broadcasting this segment without hesitation and without questions asked.

To sum it up, he claims a married woman came onto him and they began a sexual relationship and he paid her in cash and gold. He later became wary of this relationship, even though he was filming their intimate relationship from the beginning. Upon being asked about this, he simply avoids the question and it later became clear that this sick pervert has tons of similar videos of women filmed without their consent.

However, with little shame, he goes on to play the victim. She came onto him, she called him, she messaged him. If he really were that disturbed and against her actions, why did he entertain it for so long, give her money/gold, and continue their relationship? He justifies that too – ana chab bel niheye. Basically, us guys will put up with erratic behavior in exchange for sex – because it’s in our nature apparently.

The real problem is with the perverted manner in which the matter was dealt with. We’re all for talking about sex, normalizing relationships, and raising awareness – but not where it degrades, humiliates, and publically shames people without getting the full story first.

We chose not to share the video link since we do not want to promote this malicious segment.
