The Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs and the International Panel on Fissile Materials cordially invite you to a panel discussion ‘Global and Regional Nuclear Challenges’
The mission of the IPFM is to analyze the technical basis for practical policy initiatives to end production and reduce stockpiles of highly enriched uranium and plutonium. These fissile materials are the key ingredients in nuclear weapons, and their control is critical to nuclear weapons disarmament, to halting the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and to ensuring that terrorists do not acquire nuclear weapons. The Panel is co-chaired by Professor Alexander Glaser and Dr. Zia Mian of Princeton University and Professor Tatsujiro Suzuki of Nagasaki University, Japan.
Seyed Hossein Mousavian (Iran) is a Research Scholar at Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security. He is a former diplomat who served as Iran’s Ambassador to Germany (1990-1997), head of the Foreign Relations Committee of Iran’s National Security Council (1997-2005) and spokesman for Iran in its nuclear negotiations with the European Union (2003-5).
